It was learned from Midea that its independently developed humanoid robots will officially enter the washing machine factory in Jingzhou, Hubei in May, and will be used in machine operation and maintenance, equipment inspection and handling and other scenarios. In addition, Midea's humanoid robots will gradually enter offline stores in the second half of this year, and will be used for business tours, coffee making and other scenarios. Xi Wei, director of the Institute of Intelligent Technology and Applications of Midea Central Research Institute and head of the Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, revealed that this year Midea will mainly iterate full humanoid and humanoid robot products, and solve problems such as battery life, data collection and simulation, and lightweight joints through product iteration. It may take another 3-5 years for humanoid robots to truly realize industrialization. At the same time, Midea is also promoting the strategy of robotization of home appliances, applying robots and AI technologies to products such as air conditioners, floor scrubbers, and ovens, such as exploring the integration and innovation of sweepers, floor scrubbers and robotic arms.
