Mexican president threatens to sue Google
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum threatened to file a civil lawsuit against Google after the company renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the American Gulf in its mapping service following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump. Sheinbaum insisted Thursday that Alphabet Inc.'s Google was wrong to change the name of the body of water in its mapping service, saying Trump's executive order only applies to the continental shelf within the United States. "We have a dispute with Google," Sheinbaum said at a morning news conference, adding that her government has been in communication with the company on the issue and "if they persist, we will consider filing a lawsuit."
