On March 13, Luchen Technology announced the launch of Open-Sora 2.0, and fully open-sourced the model weights, inference code, and the entire distributed training process. According to the company, this is a newly open-source SOTA video generation model that successfully trained a commercial-grade 11B parameter video generation model with only $200,000 (224 GPUs). After upgrading from Open-Sora 1.2 to version 2.0, the performance gap with the closed-source OpenAISora model has been greatly narrowed, "from the previous 4.52% to only 0.69%, almost achieving full performance parity."
