Panasonic Corporation of Japan said on December 26 local time that the performance data of some of its commercial air conditioner products were falsified. The company said that the actual performance of 668 air conditioners sold from 2012 to 2024 did not reach the labeled values. According to reports, as of 2024, of the 2,305 air conditioners sold by the company, in addition to 668 units that have been confirmed to have data falsification problems, the remaining 1,637 units may also have similar problems. The investigation and confirmation work will last until April 2025 at the latest.
