On Friday morning, rumors circulated on Chinese social media that Jack Ma will return to Alibaba on May 10th, and will restart the big group model.

"Jack Ma's return to Alibaba on May 10th is set in stone," according to insiders.

In addition, "Alibaba is going to cancel the 1+6+N model that was implemented in 2023, and return to the big group model."

Caishi Media asked Jack Ma for confirmation, and he replied, "I haven't heard anything".

It is worth noting that May 10 this year is the twenty-first "Ali Day",which was set up to commemorate the spirit of Alibaba employees and their families who fought against SARS in 2003.

As the rumors spread, Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu posted a message on the company's intranet on Friday, calling on Alibaba employees to "return to the beginning and re-establish our business".

He wrote, "We must adopt the mindset of starting from scratch, think like a startup and create opportunities from it, otherwise we will only face risks."

On the morning of February 17, as the founder of Alibaba, Jack Ma made an appearance at a symposium on private enterprises.

Although he did not speak at the symposium, he shook hands with Chinese President Xi Jinping, causing a stir in the industry.

Since his speech at the Bund Finance Forum in Shanghai in October 2020, Ma has made few public appearances.

However, Ma is returning to the public eye this year.

In addition to appearing at the symposium earlier this year, Ma has also made several appearances at the Alibaba campus in Hangzhou.

His most recent public appearance was on April 10, when he attended the launch of Alibaba Cloud's new fiscal year and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Ma said high-tech is by no means just about conquering the stars and the sea, but should also take care of the people.

"The responsibility of techies is not to let AI replace human beings, but to make AI understand human beings better and serve them better,' he said.
