Indonesia has approved Apple's plan to build an AirTag factory in Batam, as part of its pledge to invest $1 billion in the country to lift a ban on iPhone 16 sales.

Rosan Roeslani, Indonesia's minister of investment and downstream industry, said on Tuesday that he had agreed to Apple's plan to build an AirTag factory in Batam.

The factory is expected to be completed and produce AirTag, a device that allows users to track luggage, pets or other items, by early 2026.
