Hong Kong stocks closed: Hang Seng Index rose 2.76% Hang Seng Technology Index rose 4.30%

Hong Kong stocks rose sharply in the late trading. As of the close, the Hang Seng Index rose 2.76%, the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 4.30%, and Chinese brokerage stocks and pharmaceutical stocks led the gains. China Tianrui Cement rose 1212.50%, China Merchants Securities rose more than 13%, and WuXi AppTec and WuXi Biologics rose more than 9%.
