Global Artificial Intelligence Africa Summit opens in Rwanda
The two-day Global Artificial Intelligence Africa Summit opened on April 3 at the Kigali Conference Center in Rwanda. With the theme of "Artificial Intelligence and Africa's Demographic Dividend", the summit attracted more than 1,000 representatives from the political, business and academic circles from 95 countries, including many heads of state, senior executives of technology companies and experts and scholars, and more than 100 artificial intelligence companies participated in the exhibition, setting a record for the largest conference in the field of artificial intelligence on the African continent. During the summit, the African Artificial Intelligence Council was formally established. It is expected that by 2030, AI will contribute 2.9 trillion US dollars to the African economy; the "African AI Supercomputing Center" plan launched at the same time will build computing facilities in five countries including South Africa and Egypt to solve the current dilemma that only 5% of developers in Africa can obtain sufficient computing power.
