FTC launches investigation into AI chatbots

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission said on Thursday it is seeking information from seven companies that offer consumer-facing artificial intelligence chatbots, including Alphabet, Meta Platforms and OpenAI, about how they measure, test and monitor potential negative impacts.
