European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said that U.S. tariffs are more likely to curb inflation for Europe than to cause it, but more time is needed to fully assess the situation. "It is very unclear how big the net impact will be," she said at a Washington Post event. "Especially if Europe does not decide on countermeasures, I think the net inflation is uncertain at this point, but it may be more of a suppression of inflation than a boost to inflation."
