Some Chinese netizens disclosed on Tuesday that they had received a text message from Dior, saying that there had been a recent leak of customer data.
TechWire made a phone call to Dior's official customer service to confirm that the content of the text message is true.
A Dior customer service representative said, "This text message was sent by Dior officials, if you receive the text message, it proves that your information may have been affected."
"If you have not yet received the SMS, please keep an eye out for the possibility of receiving the content of the SMS in the future," the customer service representative said.
The content of the text message indicated that Dior discovered on May 7, 2025, that there had been unauthorized outside access to some of the customer data it held.
The company said the maximum range of affected customers' personal information collected in China could include name, gender, cell phone number, email address, mailing address, spending level, preferences, and other information that customers may have provided to Dior.
However, Dior emphasized that the databases accessed do not contain financial information such as bank account details, international bank account numbers (IBANs) or credit card information.
Dior said it is already investigating and responding to the incident on an ongoing basis with the assistance of cybersecurity experts, as well as reporting to the relevant regulatory authorities.
