Coinbase CEO: Expect the US to quickly introduce cryptocurrency laws after Trump takes office

Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Silzad said he believes cryptocurrency legislation will advance "fairly quickly" in Congress after Trump enters the White House. Trump was known for his well-known pro-cryptocurrency policy platform during his campaign. His remarks come as two key cryptocurrency-related legislation are advancing in Congress. One is the Republican-sponsored 21st Century Financial Innovation and Technology Act, which aims to establish a legal framework for digital assets. The bill passed the House of Representatives earlier this year. The other is the Payment Stablecoin Clarity Act, which aims to establish a regulatory regime to license stablecoin issuers - stablecoins are tokens pegged to the value of fiat currencies such as the US dollar. The stablecoin bill has not yet been voted on in the House of Representatives.
