Citigroup sees weakening short-term outlook for Nvidia

Citi analyst Atif Malik reiterated his buy rating on Nvidia in a note to clients on Thursday, saying discussions at the Citi Global TMT Conference confirmed the strong growth of the artificial intelligence market next year and Nvidia's expectations for a smooth transition from GB200 to GB300 chips. However, Malik pointed out that amid a general shortage of GPUs, Google is indirectly competing with Nvidia by providing tensor processing units (TPUs) to rivals such as Meta, OpenAI, and Oracle.
