Citi: ASML's second-quarter earnings forecast weaker than market expectations
ASML's guidance for the current quarter was below market expectations, Citi analysts wrote in a research note. The Dutch semiconductor equipment maker expects sales of between 7.2 billion and 7.7 billion euros and a gross margin of 50% to 53%, which the company said was higher than normal due to uncertainty over tariffs. Analysts noted that the median sales guidance of 7.45 billion euros was below the market's consensus estimate of 7.77 billion euros. At the same time, they added that the median gross margin was about 91 basis points lower than the consensus estimate of 52.4%. ASML expects sales of between 30 billion and 35 billion euros this year.
