Boeing: Financially unable to invest in developing new aircraft
Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said in an interview that launching a new model to replace the best-selling Boeing 737 Max is not a priority. He said the market is not ready for the new model, adding that Boeing is currently financially unable to invest in the development of new aircraft. Ortberg said Boeing is working with the Trump administration. He revealed that Boeing will pay less than $500 million a year for imported parts from the United States needed to manufacture its products. Ortberg also said that he still believes that geopolitical tensions will not delay Boeing's "turnaround year."
