Apple will produce its AirPods wireless earphones in India for the first time early next year. A subsidiary of supplier Foxconn Technology Group will start assembling AirPods at a new plant near Hyderabad, Telangana, around the first quarter of next year, according to people familiar with the matter. The plant is already trial-producing AirPods, and production will increase rapidly after production begins, the people said. Apple is the world's largest maker of "true wireless stereo devices," including headphones and headsets. Data from research firm Canalys shows that Apple shipped 16.8 million such devices in the second quarter, with a market share of 22%.
