Apple plans to launch its own gaming platform
Apple is reportedly planning to develop an app specifically for video games on its devices, which will be pre-installed on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV later this year as a game launcher and will integrate in-game achievements, leaderboards, communications and other activities. The move is intended to enhance the gaming experience on Apple devices, where players currently have many options, including cloud services and game consoles. It is reported that the app will replace the existing Game Center and is one of Apple's efforts to enhance the gaming experience on its devices. Currently, games and in-app purchases contribute about two-thirds of App Store revenue. Nintendo is preparing to launch its highly anticipated Switch 2 console a few days before Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9, and Apple plans to launch the new app at the developer conference.
