Antitrust trial against Meta to start next month FTC chairman says has sufficient resources to fight tech giants
Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson said the agency is preparing for a trial next month to break up Meta Platforms Inc. Despite the government's all-out cost-cutting drive, the FTC still has ample resources to regulate the deep-pocketed tech industry. "We're preparing for trial," Ferguson said in an interview when asked whether the FTC would move forward with a case to force Meta to sell Instagram and WhatsApp. The eight-week trial is expected to begin on April 14. "We've put some of the FTC's best lawyers on this case and are ready to go."
