Amazon.com Inc. announced on Tuesday that its cloud computing division AWS plans to invest approximately $11 billion in the U.S. state of Georgia, to enhance cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The investment aims to enhance existing infrastructure and is part of Amazon's larger strategy to strengthen its position in the cloud computing market.
Many large U.S. technology companies are investing huge amounts of money in the field of AI, building data centers and high-end infrastructure for AI innovation and cloud computing services.
Microsoft announced last week that it plans to invest approximately $80 billion in the construction of data centers in fiscal year 2025 to train AI models and support AI applications.
