Some netizens broke the news on social media platforms that Amazon requires the top 20 sellers on the platform to choose between Amazon and Temu. If sellers open a store with the same brand on Temu, they will receive a warning letter asking them to choose between the two. On December 24, Amazon responded, "Amazon's statement that sellers are required to sell exclusively on Amazon is not true. Sellers can independently determine their sales strategies and set their own product prices on Amazon and other sales channels. In fact, no matter where sellers sell, Amazon will support sellers' success through our multi-channel strategy, such as solutions such as Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF). Sellers set their own prices on Amazon and provide consumers with competitive prices through the optional tools provided by Amazon."
