A high-level meeting on global development initiatives was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York
On September 23, 2025, a high-level meeting on the Global Development Initiative was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Participants agreed that, under the current circumstances, the international community should jointly practice multilateralism, uphold the original aspiration of development, remain focused on development, firmly commit to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, reform and improve global governance, promote open and inclusive development, and safeguard the common interests of the international community, especially the Global South. It is necessary to foster a stable and open international development environment, build a balanced and inclusive development partnership, foster future-oriented innovative development momentum, and promote more sustainable green and low-carbon development. All parties called on the international community to seize the opportunities presented by the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, foster an open, fair, inclusive, and non-discriminatory environment for scientific and technological development, deepen international scientific and technological innovation cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence and big data, jointly cultivate and strengthen new drivers of economic growth, and strive to bridge the digital and intelligent divides. They should actively respond to climate change, uphold the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, fully implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and its Paris Agreement, strengthen industrial collaboration in new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, and resource recycling, promote coordinated digital and green transformation and development, and achieve harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
