Zuckerberg says AI agents could eventually outnumber humans
Jul.25,2024

Asia Tech Wire (July 25) -- Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has said artificial intelligence agents could eventually outnumber humans.

Facebook's parent company Meta Platforms Inc. released Llama 3.1 405B—the first frontier-level open source AI model on Tuesday.

On the same day, Meta CEO Zuckerberg said in an interview that there could be more AI agents than humans in the future.

He said that humans would live in a world with hundreds of millions or billions of AI agents, while people would be able to interact with them in different ways.

Zuckerberg's vision is that "there should be a lot of different AIs out there and AI services, not just one kind of singular AI," in a bid to democratize AI in order to foster broader innovation.

He also argued that this is partly why open-source AI is "safer" than close-developed alternatives.
