Asian Tech Press -- Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun posted on China's Twitter-like platform Weibo on Tuesday that a new MIUI13 operating system (OS) will be released at the end of the year.
Lei said, "The MIUI team accepts everyone's suggestion, and focus first on polishing the core experience (of the MIUI OS), and solving the basic experience problems that everyone is most concerned about."
"The MIUI 13 will be released at the end of the year, and I hope it will live up to everyone's expectations," He added.
In addition, Lei announced that he will plan to make an annual speech at 7:30 p.m. BST on Tuesday, Aug. 10, to talk about his 10 toughest choices over the years.
Lei mentioned in the post that the company will also release several new products after the speech. And he also talked about the company's electric vehicle (EV) business.
"We're pushing ahead with the car project," he said, "It's still in the very early stages, so we'll report all of you when there's significant progress."
