Asian Tech Press (Feb 24) -- Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Corp (1810. HK) cancelled local launch of Redmi Note 11 due to Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Xiaomi was scheduled to hold a local launch of the Redmi Note 11 in Ukraine on Thursday, a post shows on Facebook.
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on the same day a "special military operation" in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region.
Due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Xiaomi's scheduled launch event will also not be held.
The Chinese phone maker entered the Ukrainian market in the third quarter of 2016 and has since taken off on the Ukrainian smartphone market with a higher price/performance ratio.
