Asia Tech Wire (Oct 8) -- Chinese drugmaker WuXi AppTec Co Ltd (2359.HK) has not formed any resolution to sell its WuXi Advanced Therapies manufacturing unit (ATU), the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement came after reports that WuXi AppTec would sell its advanced therapies business.

WuXi AppTec said the company is currently evaluating options to maintain the ongoing operations of WuXi ATU.

It said, "The company's first priority in this evaluation process is the employees of WuXi ATU and all of the patients around the globe who are in dire need of the life-saving treatment options offered by WuXi ATU."

WuXi AppTec said that as of Tuesday, the company had not formed any resolution on the matter and had not entered into any binding substantive agreement with any interested party.

It added that there is uncertainty as to whether the company ultimately chooses to sell WuXi ATU or retain and execute other options to enable the business to continue operations.
