Asian Tech Press (Nov 15) -- Chinese combustion engine maker Weichai Power Co., Ltd. (000338.SZ) said Wednesday it hopes to boostn exchanges with Japan's Isuzu Motors Ltd. in the new energy sector.
Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai Power, led a team to visit Isuzu on Tuesday and had a discussion with Isuzu President Masanori Katayama.
According to Weichai Power, the two sides exchanged views on the future development of new-energy commercial vehicles and powertrains, and had in-depth exchanges on the future direction of technological development for hydrogen fuel cells.
Tan said that Weichai Power has completed the layout of three new energy technology routes, namely pure electric, hybrid and fuel cell, and hoped to boost discussions and exchanges with Isuzu in the field of new energy.
Isuzu is actively promoting the innovation of advanced diesel engine and new energy technology solutions in response to the Japanese government's call for the creation of a "hydrogen society".
Katayama also expressed his hope that the two companies would further strengthen their exchanges and work together to meet the challenge of "carbon neutrality".
