Asian Tech Press (Mar. 16) -- Swedish automaker Volvo Cars announced Tuesday partnership with coffee giant Starbucks Corp. to launch EV charging network in the U.S.
The launch of the public electric vehicle (EV) charging network is set to begin this summer, Volvo said it expects the installations to be completed by the end of 2022.
The auto maker's U.S. unit said in a tweet, "We're collaborating with Starbucks to establish the first public electric-vehicle fast charging network at some of the coffee company's U.S. stores along a 1,350-mile route between Seattle and Denver."
Volvo Cars, now owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd., China's largest private auto group, aims to sell 50% pure electric vehicles by the middle of this decade and fully electric cars by 2030.
