Asian Tech Press (Feb 15) -- Swedish automaker Volvo Cars on Tuesday has launched its first pure electric vehicle in South Korea.
The C40 Recharge SUV, the Volvo brand's first pure electric car, is one of seven all-electric models to be released by the company by 2030, Yonhap News Agency reported.
The report said that the C40 Recharge car is priced at 64 million won ($53,000) in South Korea.
Volvo Cars once said that it has been moving towards becoming a pure electric car maker by 2030.
Based on the Volvo XC40 Recharge, the new model was launched in March 2021, and the company opened order books for it since June 2021.
The company said the new car would go into production in the fall of 2021 and will be built alongside the XC40 Recharge at its manufacturing plant in Ghent, Belgium.
