Asia Tech Wire (Oct 14) -- The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has canceled Apple's permit to test self-driving vehicles.

The DMV received confirmation from Apple on September 25 that it agreed to cancel the permit.

The permit was canceled on September 27, meaning a complete end to Apple's decade-long electric vehicle project, with no possibility of moving forward.

Apple received the permit in 2017, and it would have been valid until April 30, 2025 if it had not been canceled.
