Asian Tech Press (Dec 1) -- Social platform Twitter Inc (TWTR:New York) announced Tuesday that it will not allow personal media content such as photos and videos to be shared on its platform without the consent of the person depicted.
The company's existing private information policy already prohibits the sharing of other people's private information, such as phone numbers, addresses and IDs. This updated version puts private media on the "blacklist".
Twitter said in a blog, "When we are notified by individuals depicted, or by an authorized representative, that they did not consent to having their private image or video shared, we will remove it."
Jack Dorsey, the company's co-founder, resigned as CEO on Monday, handing over the reins to Parag Agrawal, Twitter's chief technology officer (CTO).
