According to media reports, chip foundry TSMC reached a record revenue of NT$148.471 billion (equivalent to about US$5.3 billion) in June, which is the first time their monthly revenue exceeded $5 billion, up 22.8% year-over-year and up a whopping 32.1% from the previous month.
TSMC's June revenue soared 32.1% month-over-month, perhaps signaling that they are already mass-producing the A15 processor for Apple, which will be used in the upcoming iPhone 13 series this fall.
Previously, it was reported that TSMC's 5nm process is priced at nearly $17,000 per wafer, an 80% increase over the 7nm price. Apple is currently the primary customer using TSMC's 5nm process. Apple's A15 processor likely is what drove TSMC's revenue to skyrocket in June.
