Due to global chip shortage, chip foundries' capacity is generally tight, and many chip foundries have raised their foundry prices.

Citing industry sources, media reported that TSMC, currently the world's largest chip foundry, has informed customers that they will raise foundry prices for LCD driver chips by 15-20%, starting in August.

However, industry sources revealed that the LCD driver chip price increase only involves 12-inch wafers. 8-inch wafers have not been mentioned.

Following the increase in chip foundry prices, the cost of the chip will thus increase, which may eventually raise the price of the product. Industry chain sources also mentioned that TSMC to raise the price of the 12-inch wafer LCD driver chip, which will prompt suppliers to improve the chip offer to end customers.
