Asia Tech Wire (Sep 23) -- TSMC has said it has no new international expansion projects at the moment, in response to rumors that it plans to build a plant in the United Arab Emirates.

TSMC said in a statement on Monday that it is focused on its current global expansion projects, and has no new investment plans to disclose.

Meanwhile, the Taiwanese chip giant said it is always open to constructive discussions on how to promote the semiconductor industry.

This comes after the Wall Street Journal reported that both TSMC and Samsung Electronics have explored the possibility of building major new factories in the UAE.
