Asian Tech Press (Nov 09) -- Taiwan's semiconductor giant TSMC confirmed building a $7 billion chip plant with Sony in Japan.

TSMC's board of directors formally approved plans to build a chip factory in Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture with an initial investment of $7 billion and mass production scheduled to begin by the end of 2024. Sony will invest up to $500 million and get about 20 % of the shares.
