Asian Tech Press (Oct 11) -- Chinese solar panel maker Trina Solar disclosed the progress of its overseas projects at an earnings conference on Tuesday.
The company said it is currently building a total of 6.5 GW of integrated capacity in Vietnam and Thailand.
In addition, its U.S. project is in orderly progress with an expectation of going into production in the second half of 2024.
Trina Solar also revealed that the company currently has an abundance of orders on hand, and that production scheduling and shipments are all carried out in accordance with customer order arrangements.
It said that by the end of 2023, the company expects its wafer capacity to reach 50 GW, cell capacity to 75 GW, and module capacity to 95 GW.
Meanwhile, Trina Solar expects to ship 65 GW-70 GW of modules for the full year of 2023.
In September, Trina Solar announced that it would invest more than $200 million to build a solar photovoltaic manufacturing facility in Wilmer, Texas, USA.
The new plant will produce about 5 GW of panels annually using polysilicon sourced in the U.S. and Europe, the company said in a statement.
