Asia Tech Wire (Oct 28) -- Toyota Motor Corp and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (NTT) are teaming up to develop self-driving car software, according to Nikkei.
Toyota and NTT will jointly invest tens of billions of yen over the next five years to develop driver assistance technology for cars based on artificial intelligence and next-generation networks.
Under the partnership, the AI will use driving data to predict the likelihood of an accident.
The two companies will work together to create a system to automatically control vehicles, which is due to be operational by 2028.
