Texas Instruments to receive up to $1.6 billion in grants for semiconductor production

Asia Tech Wire (Aug 16) -- U.S. semiconductor company Texas Instruments will receive up to $1.6 billion in U.S. federal funding.

Texas Instruments said Friday it has signed a preliminary agreement with the U.S. Commerce Department to get up to $1.6 billion in direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act.

The company said it would create more than 2,000 jobs in Texas and Utah.
