Asian Tech Press (Mar. 28) -- Tesla Inc.'s Shanghai plant will be shut down for four days from Monday amid COVID-19 lockdown.
The U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla plans to suspend production activities at its mega-factory in Shanghai on Monday due to the financial hub's COVID-19 prevention policy, sources close to the matter said.
The plant's shutdown will last four days and workers and suppliers have been notified.
To combat the COVID-19 outbreak, half of the city will be locked down by turns, bounded by the Huangpu River, to conduct rapid mass nucleic acid testing. The Pudong area, where the Tesla factory is located, will be on lockdown for four days starting Monday.
In mid-March this year, Tesla also suspended production at its Shanghai plant for 2 days due to prevention and control of COVID-19.
