Samsung Electro-Mechanics will power future Tesla Cybertruck rearview 'mirrors.'
According to media reports, electric vehicle maker Tesla has struck a deal worth $436 million with Samsung Electro-Mechanics, an electronics component manufacturer owned by Samsung Group. The company will supply Tesla's Cybertruck with its camera modules.
The Cybertruck is an electric pickup truck that Tesla first launched in November 2019. The dual-motor AWD and tri-motor AWD Cybertruck production were slated in late 2021, with the RWD model release date in late 2022.
Now Tesla and Samsung have reached an agreement for the supply of Cybertruck camera modules, perhaps signaling that Cybertruck is ready to start production.
