Asia Tech Wire (Sep 3) -- Tesla plans to produce a six-seat version of its Model Y electric car in China starting in late 2025, according to Reuters.
The move is part of the U.S. automaker's efforts to boost the appeal of its best-selling but increasingly aging electric car.
Tesla has asked suppliers to prepare accordingly for a double-digit increase in Model Y production at its Shanghai plant, a person familiar with the matter said.
In response, Tesla China said on Tuesday it was "false news".
