At noon Beijing time on Wednesday 24 March, Grace Tao, Tesla’s vice president of external affairs, posts on social media that the price of the Model Y currently on sale in China has been increased by RMB 8,000 (about $1,227).

The price increase takes effect immediately. However, customers who have already ordered the car are not affected by this price increase.
