Asian Tech Press (OCT 28) -- According to media reports, Tesla, LG Energy, Samsung Electronics and other large battery manufacturers have been invited to participate in the Battery Manufacturing Recruitment Summit in India.

In addition to Tesla, LG Energy and Samsung Electronics, Swedish new energy company Northvolt, Panasonic and Toshiba will also be the summit's invitation target. However, the full list of battery manufacturers participating in the summit has not yet been confirmed.

India, the world's third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases after China and the United States, is crucial in the fight against climate change. India plans to lobby companies such as Tesla, Samsung, and LG Energy to encourage them to invest in battery production locally as the country seeks to build a domestic supply chain for clean transportation, two Indian government sources said. Starting next month, India will hold five roadshows in the United States, Germany, France, South Korea, and Japan to convince large battery makers to set up production lines in India.
