Asia Tech Wire (June 14) -- Tencent (0700.HK) and Guangzhou Automobile Group (2238.HK, GAC) are to jointly launch a light map solution for autonomous driving.

The two companies announced on Friday a comprehensive and deepening strategic cooperation, will jointly build a next-generation hybrid cloud infrastructure to assist GAC's innovation and development in the areas of smart driving, smart cockpit, enterprise digital intelligence, and going overseas.

Based on Tencent's cloud computing and light map capabilities, the two companies plan to jointly build an "end-to-end cloud integrated" light map solution for autonomous driving, and explore the innovative model of "vehicle map and cloud integration".

The two sides will also jointly build a base for GAC's large model, create an enterprise-level AI development middle platform, and support the application of large model technology in the fields of intelligent marketing, intelligent cockpit, intelligent customer service, and autonomous driving.

In addition, the cooperation between the two companies will continue to deepen in the areas of intelligent cockpit and ride-sharing platform Ruqi Mobility.
