Replying to ByteDance’s accusations, Tencent Holdings released the following announcement:

We have not received any material about Tencent suing our company for the time being.

Tencent and its products follow the concept of fair competition and open cooperation to provide services for users and third-party products. The allegations made by ByteDance are purely untrue and malicious accusations.

A number of Byte Jumping's products, including Douyin, have been subject to multiple court injunctions requiring immediate cessation of infringement by illegally obtaining personal information of WeChat users through various unfair competition methods.

ByteDance and related companies also have many illegal and unlawful acts that infringe on the platform ecology and users' rights. We will proceed to file lawsuits.
