Asia Tech Wire (July 10) -- Tencent has announced adjustments to its internal compensation and benefits policy in an email sent to all employees, according to Chinese media outlet The Paper.
In that email, Tencent said that changes in the external environment over the past two years have caused many employees to have higher demands for immediate and stable cash flow.
The Chinese tech giant said that after careful evaluation, it has decided to make two adjustments to its compensation structure this year, in addition to its normal annual salary review.
The two adjustments include the integration of service awards into monthly salaries, as well as the integration of existing rental subsidies into monthly salaries.
Tencent said the two initiatives aim to help employees organize their work and life with greater peace of mind based on a higher and more stable monthly income.
The relevant adjustments take effect on July 1, 2024, and will start to have effect in the August payroll.
