Asian Tech Press (OCT 25) -- According to media reports, Foxconn Chairman Young Liu, Gogoro founder Horace Luke and Indonesian Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia had a preliminary discussion on the future investment in building a complete battery industry ecosystem in Indonesia.

Foxconn said that the Indonesian investment minister is looking forward to Foxconn and Gogoro investing in Indonesia. Bahlil promised that Indonesia will provide incentives for Foxconn and Gogoro's investment to support the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

Bahlil also conveyed a message from Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who said that the investment by Foxconn, the world's largest electronics OEM, is significant.

Foxconn is currently making several high-profile moves in the electric vehicle sector, including launching three electric vehicles last week.

Based in Taiwan, Gogoro, a well-established electric vehicle manufacturer, reached an agreement with Foxconn in June to develop a global battery exchange system.
