Asian Tech Press (OCT 18) -- Synopsys Korea Inc. announced its plans to establish a semiconductor IP development research and development (R&D) center in Korea to expand the recruitment of local talent and enhance customer support.
Synopsys Korea said it will support Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and other fabless companies through the newly established R&D center.
In July, Synopsys announced that its Fusion Design Platform had supported Samsung's fab to achieve a successful one-time flow of an advanced high-performance multi-subsystem system-on-chip (SoC), validating the power, performance, and area (PPA) benefits of next-generation 3nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process technology.
Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Mountain View, California, Synopsys is a provider of electronic design automation (EDA) solutions and a supplier of chip interface IP. The company currently has more than 14,800 employees in 132 locations worldwide.
The company provides a chip design and verification platform for the global electronics market, focusing on developing complex systems on chips (SoCs). In addition, the company provides intellectual property and design services to simplify the design process and increase the speed to market for its customers.
