Superstar Jay Chou's NFT stolen, valued at over $500,000

Asian Tech Press (Apr. 1) -- Taiwanese pop superstar Jay Chou said Friday a phishing website stole his monkey NFT valued at $500,000.

Jay Chou told his fans in a post about the unfortunate encounter that happened on April Fools' Day.

"I thought it was an April Fools' Day joke ….. And then I went to check and it was really gone," Jay Zhou said.

The BAYC #3738 NFT was gifted in January 2022 to Jay Chou by Taiwanese-American music leader Jeffrey Huang, known as MachiBigBrother.

According to OpenSea and Ethscan's data, the NFT was soon re-sold at 130ETH, 155ETH at LooksRare multiple times.

At the current price of Ethereum (ETH), the NFT has been valued at over $500,000.
