Asia Tech Wire (Sep 6) -- Japan's Subaru and Panasonic Energy will join forces to build a battery plant.
Subaru and Panasonic Energy jointly announced on Friday that they plan to prepare for the supply of automotive lithium-ion batteries, and jointly build a new battery factory in Oizumi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
Panasonic Energy will supply next-generation cylindrical automotive lithium-ion batteries for Subaru's battery electric vehicles (BEVs), which it plans to produce from the latter half of the 2020s.
