Asia Tech Wire (Oct 30) -- Sony is shutting down Firewalk Studios, the studio behind the first-person hero shooter game Concord.
In a letter to PlayStation employees, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Hermen Hulst said on Tuesday Firewalk Studios will be shuttered along with mobile game studio Neon Koi, a decision that will affect about 210 jobs.
Hulst said Concord didn't meet Sony's goals, and that Sony will learn that lesson and continue to push forward with real-time service capabilities for future growth in the space.
In September, Firewalk Studios announced its decision to take Concord offline beginning on September 6, 2024.
